Let’s talk about your business
Shelly Phillips, The Financial Gardener

EXPERIENCE, WITH PERSONAL ATTENTION

Financial insight.
A spirit of hospitality.

I’m Shelly Phillips, founder of Olive Tree Growth Partners. My clients call me The Financial Gardener®. I’m a fractional CFO and business strategist with over twenty years of accounting experience. My mission is to help you cultivate the financial roots of a flourishing business.

Before we talk about reports, I want to understand you. What are you building? Where do you feel the pressure? What would you like your business to make possible for your life?

My background in hospitality management taught me the value of making people feel welcome and cared for. I bring that same spirit to our work together. I listen closely, ask questions, and explain your numbers in language you can use.

I keep learning so I can bring greater value to the people I serve. My training includes graduate-level accounting courses. I am an Advanced Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor and a Certified Dashboard Designer. I also hold Clio Consultant and Administrator certifications.

Law firm accounting is a specialty. My work welcomes service businesses and business owners across industries. Your goals shape the conversation.

WHY AN OLIVE TREE?

Rooted in wisdom.
Grown with care.
Built to endure.

An olive orchard with mature trees and a sunlit path

The olive tree is at the heart of how I see your business.

Olive trees can bear fruit across generations. Their resilience begins with strong roots and the conditions that sustain them. Growth needs nourishment, patient care, and good stewardship.

Your business needs that same care. Reliable books form the roots. Your people, systems, and everyday workflows form the trunk and branches. Profit, cash flow, and the life your business supports are the harvest.

As your Financial Gardener®, I look below the surface. We connect your numbers with the way work actually gets done. Then we choose what to strengthen, what to simplify, and where to invest your attention.

Together, we look at the seeds you are planting: the activities that bring in revenue and the investments you are making. We examine the strength of your trunk: your team, internal controls, and cash flow. Then we keep your desired harvest in view: sustainable profit, financial breathing room, and long-term growth.

A custom financial dashboard helps you see that story. Forecasts and an action plan help you decide what to do next. Practical AI solutions can free your team from repetitive work so more of your energy goes toward the people and priorities that matter.

THE FAITH BEHIND THE FINANCIAL GARDENER

Rooted in faith.
Expressed through care.

“But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.”Psalm 52:8, KJV

Be.
More.
Fruitful.

My Christian faith is part of who I am. It shapes how I care for people and how I approach the work you entrust to me.

The olive tree reminds me to stay rooted in God’s faithful love. Its strength and fruitfulness speak to patience, perseverance, and faithful stewardship. Those values belong in business, too.

You have entrusted your business with your time, your resources, and your hopes for the future. I take that seriously. I want to help you make thoughtful decisions about what you have today and what you are working to grow.

What does that mean for you?

Honest conversations. Careful work. Respect for your priorities. I believe integrity means telling you what your numbers show, even when the conversation is difficult. It also means being clear about what I can help with and when another professional should be involved.

I want you to feel comfortable asking questions. You deserve patient explanations and a relationship where you feel heard. My care for you extends to the life your business supports.

You do not need to share my faith to work with me. You can expect the same respect, compassion, and commitment to doing the right thing.

THE MEANING BEHIND THE WORK

Peace. Strength.
Prosperity.

An olive tree with a strong brown trunk, green leaves, deep purple olives, and spreading roots

Peace to focus on your business.

Let me extend an olive branch. If keeping up with your books or understanding your cash flow has become a weight, we can work through it together. Clear records and patient guidance can bring more peace to your decisions.

Strength for the next season.

Your roots need to support the business you are becoming. Reliable financials, clear responsibilities, and useful systems give you a stronger foundation. We look for weak spots and build a plan to help your business face the next season.

Prosperity worth cultivating.

The olive wreath has long represented achievement. What does a meaningful harvest look like for you? Healthier cash flow? Room to hire? More time with your family? I want to understand your answer so our financial plan reflects what matters to you.

A CLEAR START

Know what you’re
saying yes to.

Good working relationships need clear expectations. Use the first conversation to see whether the fit feels right.

Start the conversation
  1. Your priorities come first.

We discuss your goals and immediate concerns. Then we identify the work that deserves attention.

  2. The scope comes before the work.

A written proposal should explain deliverables, fees, timing, and responsibilities. We clarify what is included before you decide.

  3. Access has a clear purpose.

We agree on the information and system access needed. Approval roles and data handling belong in the engagement details.

  4. Changes deserve a conversation.

We discuss changes to the agreed scope. Review dates, support, and any exit terms should be clear in the agreement.

BEFORE WE TALK

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Ask Shelly about your business
Will you judge the state of my books?

The first step is understanding what needs attention. Bring the questions you have been putting off. A clear starting point helps us plan the work.

Will I lose control of my business?

You remain the business owner and decision-maker. Responsibilities, system access, and approval steps should be clear in the scope.

What if I only need one kind of help?

Start with the problem you need to solve. We can discuss bookkeeping, AI solutions, or CFO services on their own.

Am I committing by booking a call?

Booking a conversation does not create a professional services engagement. Any service work needs a separate agreement.

Do you promise financial results?

No. Outcomes depend on your business, decisions, and circumstances. We focus on useful information, practical systems, and an agreed plan.
